Chris Mathews

Born in Toowoomba, Queensland in 1970, Chris is part of the Quandamooka mob of Stradbroke Island.

In 1993, Chris was the first Indigenous Australian to graduate with a BSc (Hons) in Applied Mathematics from Griffith University. He has recently submitted his PhD thesis in Applied Mathematics to the same university.

Chris is a member of the Board of Directors for the Australian Indigenous Science, Engineering & Architecture Network (AISEAN), a non-profit organisation that aims to provide support to Indigenous people within these fields of science and use its collective knowledge to benefit Indigenous communities around Australia.
