NSW Aboriginal Education Consultative Group Inc

The NSW Aboriginal Education Consultative Group Inc (AECG) is an Aboriginal community-based organisation dedicated to advocating quality educational outcomes and equity for Aboriginal students from early childhood to tertiary education.

With a NSW membership base of more than 1,000, AECG promotes grass-roots consultation and the identification of Aboriginal educational needs from the ground up. The empowerment of Aboriginal parents and students to have a say about their education is the key to AECG’s strength.

Within NSW, the organisation is recognised as the peak Aboriginal education advisory body to the Minister of Education, the Office of the Board of Studies and the Department of Education & Training, and works closely with the Commonwealth Department of Education, Science & Training, Catholic Education and the Early Childhood Sector.

This year the AECG celebrates its 25th year of operation.
